        My Beginning

Environmental Projects & Marketing at Carmichael Environmental

California is where I began with
Carmichael Environmental
helped me develop a long list of skills and honed
what I already knew over two and a half years.

Permaculture Design
Low-Impact Development (LID)
Greywater Systems
Rainwater Harvesting
Hardscape
Landscape Construction

Bid Automation
Web Design
Social Media
Initial Consultations
Site Mapping & Assessment

Below are many of the projects I have completed with Josh Carmichael and a crew of 1-3 others.

My first projects were laundry to landscape greywater installs and from there we have done plenty of LID, food forest, and other forms of permaculture-based landscaping for homes and wineries.  Josh Carmichael started installing rain tanks while I was working with him, so we learned it together side-by-side.

I was part of the San Luis Obispo Permaculture Guild for over a year where I became part of the board and rekindled the monthly meetings and workparties.  We hosted several work-parties that included two community gardens while teaching about sheet mulching, companion planting, and soil building and a couple home projects with education, food, and fun.

Hosts included:
Toby Hemenway
Larry Santoya
Ken Haggard - Local Strawbale Master
Josh Carmichael - Local Permaculture Landscaper
Amanda Smith - Local Soil Expert

I also presented on greywater and rainwater harvesting systems, opened and closed general meetings, and collaborated with the community.
We also did some "City Repair Projects" that brought communities together.

I was also funded to go to the
Land & Watershed Restoration Training
with Craig Sponholtz of the Watershed Artisans at
Quail Springs Permaculture

Learning included in-class and work-experience in:
Stream & watershed restoration assessment and strategies
Observation and environmental awareness skills
Regenerative system installation practices
Local-based, minimal effort, and impactful change-making

Craig Sponholtz provided an extremely practical and thorough 4-day training that left us with an experience that has inspired me to develop these skills and utilize the principles we got with the work that I do.
